Why You Should Hate Job

Times are changing and the rules about the game of money are equally changing: there is a whole paradigm shift that is silently engulfing the world and unconsciously overthrowing the accepted norm of job. There is a whole wind of revolution on how work is done to make money and how that hard core school academic knowledge and skills is no more a necessary tool in staying on top of the game.

The world Economic Forum (WEF) came out with a report that ‘‘a new generation of smart machines, fueled by rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and robots could potentially replace a large proportion of existing human jobs’’.

And you are still having hope in looking for or keeping your job??? To even fast track this, the onset of Corona Virus has made a lot of companies rely on smart technologies, thereby reducing human relational contact and subsequently boosting productivity. This means that human skilled labor will be hard hit.

According to the WEF 30% of work is done by machines, however they estimated that by 2025 the figure will turn out 50-50 for humans and machines.

Futurist Thomas Frey predicts that over 2 billion jobs will disappear by 2030 which represents approximately  50% of all jobs on the planet. The fate of school academia will be cloudy.

There are lots of people that are qualified with huge decorated certificates but they are jobless, they can’t use them for anything.

The current era has made school oriented skill eventually becoming obsolete and worthless. Innovations and technology is making lot crafts and skills obtained from school practically unusable.

The new paradigm shift in making money that has seen a shift from the traditional norm means that you don’t necessarily have to go cap-in-hand miserably knocking at employers doors begging for jobs, but relearning through the power of the internet to establish a money making business that can generate you wealth instead of a miserable monthly salary.

The icing on the cake is that, you can even identify and start your own business online without necessarily relying on investors or the banks to get off the ground running-power of the internet age!

Now lets now see why you should hate been in Job.

  •      Job enslaves the individual for the most part of his life

If you look at a person in job, you’ll notice much of his/her time and energy is invested in the job, and in actual fact the person might seems free but  not free, but under bondage to his/her bosses and the job. Just as some circles will put it-Job is modern day slavery– is slavery that moved from the plantation fields and rebranded, repackaged with the aid of school. Most people work like robots in their jobs; they are so glued to their jobs that they hardly find time for themselves or their families.

The worst of it is that they keep on going to school to upgrade themselves presumably with the illusion of better salary and office positions and working harder and harder like robots to impress their bosses so they can get promoted. They get addicted to their jobs, working all just for a monthly salary. Sad!

According to Nassim Nicholas Taleb ‘’the three most harmful addictions are, heroin, carbohydrrates, and a monthly salary’’. Also quoting Bertrand Russell, he said, ‘’the morality of work is the morality of slaves, and the modern world has no need of slavery’’. Though some few people might earn decent monies with their jobs they might not get time to spend those monies, since they are mostly chained to the job- they sleep, eat, and drink the job no breathing space for them. Some even at the weekends still have jobs to attend to; no time for family, no time for themselves.  So let’s say you entered into job at the age of 25, meaning you have 35 years to work this way like a robot and finally and sadly retire at age 60 where your contract with the employer seizes, in most cases the government, salary stops.  Now the employer or company sees you to be weak and needs fresher blood to work for him. Isn’t this a cheat and waste of your years??  considering the lifetime productive years  you invested into the job and now you are leaving it, it is not yours, salary stops. What will you depend on after this?

Some people might argue that planning well and saving towards your pension age will cushion you, but I bet to differ, this is a miserable strategy-a mindset of a failure, how much can those ”savings” and ”planning well” do for the job retiree?? can it give the retiree a residual income comfortable enough to make him still live life in honor?

  •       Job Deceives People with the Hope of Pension Scheme and Emolument

The government will as it is, put in traps to keep more people obtaining more school decorated certificates so the system can be running in their favor so they can get more tax pay outs and will promise the worker of good retirement pension which becomes a day dream and never comes to fruition but a life time disappointment. Just as George Carlin put it ‘’Government don’t want a population capable of critical thinking, they want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation”. And this is the situation of the system we’re in.

Sadly the school system that prepares people with job mentality will equally orient them to employ the culture of Savings, Social Security and Pension. But I bet you, you can save your entire life time and it will still be peanut and can’t do anything for you, besides, this is a bad financial orientation since inflation will catch up with the value of the money. Besides people can hardly save due to rising demands and cost of living.

Also the sad thing with Pension Scheme is that the way it is been packaged and presented is not what the worker realizes upon retirement. The unfortunate mindset workers have about it make them have the illusion that it will cushion them at old age, they only go to collect it and realized it disappeared into thin air, there is nothing there for them to collect but a load of disappointment and frustrations.  I heard a story about a woman who went for her Pension money and collapsed upon noticing the amount she was entitled to pick.

The disappointment in Pension money has put a lot of senior citizens into closer to been beggars if not completely beggars or they depend on their children for survival. But as times are getting harder and harder it will come to a point retired parents might receive little or no attention from their children financially, since they might be burdened with handling their own personal issues coupled with family responsibilities, that they might show little or no care  for their parents.  So one can imagine how regrettable the situation will be. Eventually people will just realize they wasted their active years in job which abandoned them at old age.

A friend of mine’s brother who was an important and respected public servant, in his advice to him lamented how he invested his years into job and realized he retired and was reduced to zero and has to now depend on his children for basic necessities.

So now if all those years were invested into building a business it might have become a company and probably given him a fortune and even in old age he can still be hanging out with his lovely wife at the beach somewhere sharing sweet memorable memories, but you see, the rest of the retiree years will be lived in a low and dim light situation in adverse frustrations. That is why most retirees if they cross 65-70 years, then they are lucky, this is because frustrations out of regrets will result in most acquiring heart related diseases and other related ailments and finally they pass on. Sad!

  •     The era of job is over

The 21st Century does not understand the language of job- is about business opportunities. And this explains why a lot of graduates that come out of the universities are jobless, because they have been programmed to work in jobs.

Prior to the abolition of slavery in the 19th century where human resource was needed at the plantations and other places of work, industrial revolutions brought about a whole change into how work is done from agrarian and handicraft economy to machines, and subsequently many industries sprung up.  School then played a major role in training and churning out skill professionals needed for the industries and various work places.  So during that era into the 20th century, high academic qualification was revered, and been a university graduate opens up lots of opportunity doors for you. But now the status quo has changed with the onset of the Information age otherwise known as the Computer or Digital age where different skills set are needed to survive overthrowing and putting the traditional job mantra into obsoletion.

The nature of job is not like it was 60 or more years down the lane- the nature of job keep on changing-it wasn’t the same 20, 15 10, or even 5 years ago.- times and technology keep on changing everything.

The Information age has revolutionized the system and broken barriers and made it possible for everybody to create and own business or company with the right set of orientation. Creating and owning a company is no more only a reserve of people who have capital and can build a large physical factory or people who have the financial muscles to pick huge investment capital from the banks to establish a business, but with the digital age building business has gone digital and one can easily start a business online without necessarily going to the bank for huge loans or relying on investors. All the person needs is to understand the tools of technology and he is set go.

  •     Job makes the individual live life below his means

The salary earned in job is fix and keep the individual live a life of pay-cheque to pay-cheque. The salary is carefully budgeted, and even with that it does not span to the end of the month and is all gone, making the individual starts counting the remaining days leading to another payday.

The job worker does not know what it means to go on vacation with his family, because he does not know what it is, even if he knows he cannot afford it. He might even spend his whole life within his country and even retire or die without knowing where his country’s airport is.  They live most of their lives been average or close to under average. They can suffer low wage, but have no option to quit. Just as Charles Bukowski put it ‘’they never pay the slaves enough so they can get free, just enough so they can stay alive and come back to work’’.

At some point the job worker will think adding more academic degrees or qualifications will salvage his misery with pay rise. They get to school spent some years come back and yet the story is not changed. They might get a pay raise but which in some cases might be disappointing to what they expected; they continues to suffer under the shackles of pay-cheque to pay-cheque because salary remains fix as needs and demands does not correlate with what is received at the end of the month. They finally succumb and live with the pathetic philosophy that, ‘’cut your court according to your size’’= every coin of money spent is carefully monitored and calculated, and average life is embraced.

Now the sad thing is that, reality starts to dawn on them as they get close to retirement or in retirement age they noticed they wasted much of their years acquiring paper certificates which couldn’t fix their financial problem but also becomes worthless since those certificates cannot be used any longer or inherited by their children.

  •     Job kills the individual’s potential

Job silences the inner value and potential of the individual and settles him or her with a monthly salary.

Most often you meet someone and ask, what work do you do? Then the reply is that, I’m a nurse, I’m an accountant or a teacher. These are jobs; they are not the work you do. Your work you are supposed to do is been silenced by your job.

Your job is not what you are, your work is what you are: your job is what you are employed to do to survive, your work is the value you have that you share to make impact in the world which illuminates your true potential capable of building you wealth. Sadly most people will live and work in jobs till they die without ever knowing their true value which should have come out of their work.

As it is, you can’t blame them much because they are victims of the school system which has stolen their dreams and slapped them with academic skills and professions which don’t define them. In this case their orientation puts them into looking for jobs or high paying jobs, they don’t know they’ve become unconsciously tools for jobs, their mindset is glued to job and not building a company or business.

Your true sense of realization would have been realized when your mindset repels job and with the right orientation you are desirous to succeed in life, which leads you into state of crises. It is this state of crises that leads one into critical thinking and finally helping discovering what your true value and potential is. Without life crises there is no critical thinking. Now with job everything is already prepared for you, you only need school skill and professional training and boom! you are set to go, nothing is created. Then you keep on doing same thing over and over again, earning same salary over and over again. This is unfortunate.

Job mindset is a cultural virus which is a systematic propofol used to tame the individual and put him under system control such that he forgets his real value in life. Once monthly salary starts trickling in, they build their lives around it and forget they can do something better for themselves than remaining and relying on salary. As one will sarcastically put it, ‘’salary is a bribe that makes you forget your dream”. The only way is to quit, but most people are trapped, they can’t quit. As Bryant McGill said ‘’quitting a job can be like an exorcism where you cast out a demon. The demon is the foreign spirit who occupies you through your occupation.’’ It will take bravery to say no to school professions or job and rather take advantage of the digital age opportunities and start building something for yourself.

  •     There is so much politics at the job place

The nature of work at the job place is like a ladder which needs to be climbed up by the workers, and this brings about unnecessary competition. In this case the politics of favoritism borne out of tribal or religious inclinations plays out prominently. You can also find workers playing the game of hypocrisy by trying to malign coworkers to the boss so they can attract favors of promotion for themselves, so you might find a coworker pretending to be nice with you but behind the scene he’s a snitch and an enemy.

The dangerous part is when you are fortunate to be handed an office position, where some of subordinates equally have same qualification, they can decide to apply the mathematics formula of elimination by presenting you to powers of darkness to be killed.

It is really sad, that among poor working conditions, been given a struggling monthly salary people still go through this.

Now the question is what then should one do to move away from this conventional mindset?

The answer is simple, relearn and adjust to the growing technological tweak that has brought about a new paradigm shift into owning businesses instead of owning job. The good news is that creating and owning business in this 21st century has been made it easier through the internet revolution than it was 30 years ago.
